Hurricane Watch

This coast gets storms, and pretending otherwise is how distant managers do it. Hurricane Watch is a written protocol run by a team that lives here, and any Gulf home can carry it, whether or not Capeora manages the rental.

01

June, before the first forecast

Before season

Storm readiness is paperwork and photographs done early, when the Gulf is flat and nobody is anxious.

  • A photo inventory of your home

Room by room, contents and condition, filed before the season starts. If a claim ever happens, the before picture already exists.

  • A shutter & furniture plan written for your home

Which panels go on which openings, which deck and pool furniture comes in, where it all goes. Not a generic checklist. Your house, on paper.

  • Contacts and coverage on file

Your preferred contact order and your insurer's details, so when hours matter we are executing, not asking.

02

Watch & warning

When a storm turns toward us

The plan we wrote in June gets executed by a local team that lives minutes from your door.

  • Board-up and secure

Shutters up, furniture in, water off, doors checked. All of it from the plan written for your house, not improvised in the wind.

  • Documentation before we leave

Timestamped photos of your secured home are the last thing we take before pulling off the peninsula.

  • Guest care on homes we manage

If Capeora also runs your rental, guests hear from us before they hear it on the news: honest timelines, clear instructions, and refund-forward rebooking when a stay cannot safely happen.

03

After the storm

First in, with a camera

The days after a storm decide how fast a coast home recovers. A team that lives here shortens every one of them.

  • First-in walkthrough

As soon as access reopens, we walk your home and photograph everything. You see its condition before the rumors reach you.

  • Documentation in order

Dated photos from before and after the storm, in one organized file you can hand straight to your insurer. The pre-season inventory earns its keep here.

  • Reset and reopen

We coordinate dry-out, cleanup, and repairs with local trades we already work with. Homes we manage get reset, re-photographed, and back on the calendar in that order.

Who it's for

Homes we manage

Hurricane Watch is included in Full Service. If we run your rental on that plan, everything on this page already happens for your home.

Homes on lighter plans

On any other Capeora plan, add Hurricane Watch on its own as a flat-quoted service. No plan upgrade required.

Second homes that never rent

Standalone coverage for a house that never takes a guest. A local team you can reach, watching a home you are not in.

Why locals

A manager three states away reads the same forecast you do. We cross the same bridge, live behind the same dunes, and answer to neighbors. When Highway 98 reopens, we are first in, because we never went far.

Your home deserves a plan with its name on it.

Tell us about the house and a local team you can reach will put its storm plan on paper before the first forecast. You can also write to owners@capeora.com.
